Sea Scout Ship 707 Rising Tide
Empowering the next generation of maritime leaders through hands-on training and leadership development.
OUR HISTORY
Rooted in Tradition
Founded in 2025, Sea Scout Ship 707 Rising Tide serves the greater Vallejo area as a welcoming, youth-focused maritime program open to all. Our first vessel was acquired in February 2026, marking the start of our hands-on training on the water. The ship was started when our Skipper realized Vallejo lacked a dedicated, inclusive youth program like this. We are proudly founded on the premise that “a rising tide lifts all boats,” and we aim to lift every Scout who joins our crew.

Our Fleet & Projects
Our fleet currently centers on our flagship, the Cal Bay IV — a 40-foot vessel with a 13-foot beam, 4-foot draft, and twin Detroit Diesel 6-71 engines on twin shafts. She’s homeported at the Vallejo Municipal Marina and is being modified to sleep more Scouts comfortably and better fulfill our mission. We also train using our chartering organization SOMIRA’s 20-foot (approx.) Monomoy double-ended whale boats to practice traditional rowing. We’re always looking to grow our fleet and our crew, with more photos and updates coming soon.
